The south face is the usual and easiest route for climbing Damavand summit. There are some equipment and facilities such as Refuge and Camping services. This route is the normal trekking and don't have any challenges except altitude.
The Northeast Face is the most famous route after south face. There is a small shelter without any facilities and a Private Camp. In some section of this route (5300 to 5600 m) there is always snow and ice so it's better to have an Ice axe (with experience and knowledge of usage)
At the west face, there is a shelter without any facilities and services. This route is like a South face but in some section, there is a risk of falling stone and it's better to have Helmet.
Finally, in the north face, there are two small shelter, one shelter approximately at 4000 m altitude and second shelter ad 4700 m altitude (known as 5000 m shelter). At some section of north face, it's needed to have ability of rock climbing and may be need to have some technical equipment such as Rope. Also, at end of this route (upper than 5300 m) maybe need to use Ice axe.
The other routes of Damavand Mountain don't have any Shelter or facilities and some of them are technical.
